The Power of a Positive ‘No’ – William Ury PhD

Headline:  How to say NO & still get to YES

Whats it all about?

NO! – The most powerful word in any language – yet most of us don’t really know how and when to use it correctly.

We can all be reluctant to use it if we fear it could spoil a relationship with family, our bosses or even a client.

The book is broken down into three easy to follow stages: Prepare, Delivery & Follow Through and will help readers know whether and how to say NO and provides a simple, proven solution to tackle everyday scenarios.

It is a well written book with interesting case studies and examples used throughout and would interest anyone who would like to improve their relationships, whether in professional or private life.

How did this book impact me?

I’m not the best at saying No – I worry way too much about upsetting people and consequently end up with too much on my plate.

Admittedly, I don’t have to deal with clients on a day to day basis but, personally, I think I could learn from putting some of the stages in this book into practice.

By just changing the way we express and communicate ourselves we can improve our day to day life and show who we really are without making enemies!
